LOCK HAVEN- Dustin Allen Butler, 26, of Loganton, was sentenced today by Judge Michael F. Salisbury, to a minimum of 11 ½ to 23 months on one count of Theft By Failure To Make Required Disposition of Funds, a Felony of the Third Degree, and one count of Bad Checks, a Misdemeanor of the First Degree. Butler will also be required to serve an additional 36 month of probation after he completes his jail sentence, and was ordered to pay back more than $41,000.00 to the victim in the case.
Butler was charged by the Officer Bryan Burger on April 5, 2022, after failing to pay a building supply company in Lamar Township for $40,000 in building materials. Butler passed a bad check and then failed to respond to multiple attempts by the victim and police to satisfy the outstanding debt.
At the time, Butler owned and operated Black Bear Construction.
Butler is also facing felony charges in several other jurisdictions on home improvement fraud offenses. Butler is currently wanted in Centre, Potter, Bradford, York, and Somerset Counties, in Pennsylvania and in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
