LOCK HAVEN- Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse's office has filed a bail modification motion with the Court of Common Pleas for Shaun Jason Wadsworth, 42, of Renovo. Wadsworth was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police at Lamar on one count of Aggravated Assault, a felony of the first degree, and one count of Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon, a felony of the second degree following a Wednesday evening shooting on 5th Street in Renovo Borough. Clinton County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael F. Salisbury has scheduled an expedited hearing on the DA's bail motion on Friday (today) at 1:30 pm.
Wadsworth is accused of shooting Christopher Clausen, 46, following an argument. Wadsworth was arraigned Thursday by magisterial district judge Frank Mills who set bail at $20,000. In the motion filed by the DA on Thursday afternoon, the Commonwealth alleges that Wadsworth's bail was not sufficient in light of the nature and severity of the charges filed against Wadsworth.
In the bail modification motion, the DA's office also advised the Court that Wadsworth had been free on unsecured bail on another criminal case at the time of the alleged shooting, stemming from an alleged theft and vandalism case filed by Renovo Borough Police in July of this year. In that case, Wadsworth is alleged to have stolen property from Scoot's Game Room on Huron Avenue, Renovo Borough, on July 18th, 2022, and caused an estimated $4,900 in damages to the property.
