A township resident received a phone call from someone stating they were a representative of “PP&L” (Pennsylvania Power & Light) and that the resident’s electric bill was several months overdue and the homeowner needed to pay the bill within the next 30 minutes otherwise their electricity would be turned off.
The real Pennsylvania Power & Light was contacted and they advised that the calls are a scam and didn’t come from PP&L and not to provide any payment to the caller.
Township police remind everyone that there are numerous scam calls going around and to never provide their personal information to anyone who randomly calls your home.
