Pine Creek Township Police Department
NEWS RELEASE: March 29, 2021
1. SCAM – Police have received multiple reports of various types of scams going around. Some examples of ones being reported are calls saying they represent the Social Security Department, Medicare and Amazon. Citizens are reminded to not give any information over the phone on a call you did not originate yourself. These SCAM calls can appear to be coming from a local number when displayed on your phone.
2. DOMESTIC - On 3/15/2021 at 9:48 PM police responded to a domestic dispute on Mallard Lane, Pine Creek Twp. It was determined to be verbal and involved a minor and his guardians.
3. SPEEDING COMPLAINT - Police have received complaints of speeding on Pine Mountain Road, Wayne Township, specifically in the 300 block. As a result police have issued several citations for speeding in this area. Complaints have also been received for speeding on Sulphur Run Road, Pine Creek Township and as a result of enforcement in this area police have stopped several vehicles. With the warmer temperatures police are reminding drivers to slow down and pay attention for children out playing and riding bicycles.
4. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES - Police have received several complaints from a citizen on Rainbow Drive about people shining flashlights in his windows and knocking on the side of his residence.
5. FIGHT / HARASSMENT – On 3/20/2021 at 10:45 PM police were called to Bobs Tavern on Central Avenue, Avis Borough for a fight that took place. As a result of the investigation Marissa Clayton of Hughesville has been charged with harassment after it was reported Clayton pushed Howiena Reidy to the floor inside the bar.
6. DISTURBANCE – On 3/21/2021 at 12:01 AM police were called to the 1200 block of Park Avenue, Woolrich for a report of two females refusing to leave the property. Police spoke to the females who stated they were there to pick up the ones boyfriend who was refusing to leave with them. The two females were advised by police to leave the property since the male did not want to go with them.
7. PROPERTY DISPUTE – On 3/26/2021 at 9:31 AM police were called to Beury Lane, Wayne Township for a property dispute. The neighbors were advised it was a civil issue and to consult with their attorney about the issue.
8. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF – On 3/26/2021 at 11:13 PM police were called to the area of the little league fields off Henry Street and Sixth Avenue for a report of two trucks in the field tearing it up. The vehicles left the area prior to police arriving. If anyone has any information as to the identity of those involved please contact the department.
Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
