NEWS RELEASE: February 1, 2023
- ASSAULT - Police are investigating a reported assault of a juvenile male from McElhattan Drive in Wayne Twp. The investigation is ongoing.
- HARASSMENT – 1/24/23 a Big Plum Run Rd. resident reported being harassed by his Sister. Police have spoke to all parties involved and the incident resolved.
- THEFT – 1/25/23 a resident reported winning a sum of money at the ONVO travel plaza in Pine Creek Twp. The victim removed the winnings from the machine and proceeded to leave the store unaware that the machine was still processing the winnings and not all of her money had been dispensed. A female sitting in the area took the remaining cash from the machine and exited the store. The female has been identified and charges are pending.
- SUSPICIOUS PERSON – 1/27/23 Police received a report of a female wondering around yards in the Clinton and Martin Street area in Avis Borough. Police located Kayla Schenck who was detained on a probation detainer.
- DOMESTIC – 1/28/23 Police responded to a domestic disturbance on West Summit Street in Avis Borough. The disturbance was verbal and the individuals separated.
- ANIMAL ABUSE – 1/31/23 Police received a report from the Clinton County SPCA in regards to a dog that was located on Pine Mountain Rd. in Wayne Twp. that had been shot. The dog is receiving treatment and the investigation is ongoing. If anyone has any information please contact the department at 570-753-5672.
- DISPUTE – 1/30/23 Police were called to Elk Lane in Dunnstable Twp. for a report of a neighbor dispute over a shared lane to the residence. The dispute was verbal and no charges filed.
- RUNAWAY - A West Park St. Avis resident reported a runaway juvenile on 1/30/23. The juvenile was located a short time later and returned home.
- FIRE – 1/30/23 police assisted the fire dept on Henry St. in Pine Creek Twp. for a structure fire.
Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
