On 1/9/2021 at 10:59 pm the Pine Creek Township Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Grove Street in Avis Borough for a reported disturbance involving a knife. Officers arrived on the scene and were advised by multiple witnesses that Sylvester Simcox, 54, of Short Street, Avis, PA had just fled the scene. Witnesses stated that Simcox had arrived there and started a disturbance by knocking on doors and when asked to leave Simcox pulled out a folding knife and chased a male victim around the yard with the opened knife saying he was going to stab and kill the male victim. A female victim exited her apt. to see what was going on and Simcox went at the female victim and said he was going to kill her also.
Simcox was taken into custody without incident at his apt complex on Short Street. Simcox was transported to the Clinton County Jail for his arraignment on charges of Aggravated assault, simple assault and terroristic threats. Bail was set at $5,000 monetary.
