Aaron Confer, 22, of West Central Avenue in Avis, PA has been charged with Aggravated assault (F2), Simple Assault (M1), Strangulation (F2), Recklessly Endangering another person (M2), and Endangering Welfare of Children (F2) following an incident at his residence in Avis on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
On February 10, 2021 the Pine Creek Township Police were called to the Lock Haven Hospital after a mother had taken her 3-month-old child to the hospital for injuries and bruises on the infant’s body. The mother reported to police she had recently installed surveillance cameras inside her residence and had observed the child’s father, Aaron Confer, being physically aggressive with the baby earlier in the day and had yelled at him through the camera system.
Later in the day, Confer contacted the child’s mother and reported that the baby was “bruised all over.” Mother immediately left her work and retrieved the child and traveled to the hospital. Medical records showed that the baby suffered significant bruising to various parts of the body and a fractured clavicle.
Confer later told Pine Creek Township Police, that “things had got out of control” and “he did things he should not have done.” Confer also admitted to police that he had covered the baby’s mouth on several occasions to stop the child from crying and prevented the baby from breathing for periods of time.
Confer was arraigned on the above charges by District Judge Keith Kibler and bail was set at $250,000.00. Confer was committed to the Clinton County
Correctional Facility after being unable to post bail.
