On 6/28/2022 Zachariah James Baney was observed driving in the 2200 block of Woodward Avenue in a light green in color Ford Focus. Baney was observed stopping the car, getting out and taking his shirt off and running around several houses. Baney did enter into a residence that was occupied by the female owner who was in her upstairs office doing a work call. She heard her doors being opened and closed in her residence and called for assistance. Baney fled the residence just prior to the police arriving and was last seen driving towards Lock Haven on SR 150. The homeowner discovered all her cupboard doors were open, her refrigerator and stove were open and dresser drawers were pulled open. A neighbor reported Baney ran to their house upon leaving the first one and Baney had a bottle of BBQ sauce that Baney stole from the residence. Baney was observed a few minutes later in Lock Haven as Baney attempted to get into several vehicles before getting back in his vehicle and getting onto SR 220 South where the Clinton County Sheriff's Dept. observed Baney traveling and attempted to pull Baney over and Baney continued driving until coming to a dead end Rd. in Lamar Twp. where Baney was taken into custody for the incident on Woodward Avenue, Pine Creek Twp. Baney was charged with Burglary, Criminal Tresspass, Theft, Receiving Stolen property and Driving while his license was suspended - DUI related. Zachariah Baney was arraigned by Judge Kibler and bail was set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled.
