Subject: Sean Michael Hendershot Jr.
On 04-05-22 at approximately 8:00 PM, Sean Michael Hendershot Jr. took his two children, age 6 and age 2, out for dinner. Hendershot was supposed to return the children to their mother following the dinner as the mother has full physical custody of the children. Hendershot failed to return the children to the mother.
On 04-06-22, the mother reported to LHPD that Hendershot still had not returned the children and had turned off all forms of communications. The children were entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as missing. Hendershot and his vehicle were also entered into NCIC. Hendershot’s phone was pinged without success.
On 04-07-22, a Clinton County Common Pleas Judge issued a court order granting police the authority to take custody of the children if located. LHPD issued a Missing Endangered Person Advisory through the Pennsylvania State Police and obtained an arrest warrant for Hendershot for Interference with the Custody of Children (F3) and Concealment of Whereabouts of a Child (F3).
On 04-07-22 at approximately 4:40 PM, a license plate reader near Franklin, Virginia picked up Hendershot’s plate. Hendershot was located and taken into custody by Franklin PD. The children were found with Hendershot and transported back to PA by family.
On 04-08-22, Hendershot waived extradition and is being transported back to Clinton County for arraignment on the above charges.
No further information will be released by LHPD at this time.
