News Release

June 27, 2022

Incidents:

1.  Theft – Victim reported items were stolen out of vehicle in the 10 block of W Water St between 06-05-22 at 7:30 PM and 06-06-22 at 9:00 AM. 

2.  Hit and Run – On 06-22-22 at 3:39 PM, a hit and run occurred in the 200 block of W Bald Eagle St.  A white van traveling east struck a parked vehicle. 

3.  Crash – On 06-22-22 at 4:18 PM, a crash occurred in the 300 block of W Bald Eagle St.  A vehicle exiting the Weis parking lot pulled into the path of a vehicle traveling east on W Bald Eagle St. 

4.  Crash – On 06-23-22 at 4:10 PM, a crash occurred at E Walnut St and Vesper St.  Unit 1 was traveling west on E Walnut St and turned left onto Vesper St.  As Unit 1 turned, it struck Unit 2 which was traveling east on E Walnut St and turning right onto Vesper St. Unit 1 driver was cited for Turning Movements and Required Signals.  Unit 2 driver was cited with the same for not using a turn signal to execute the right turn. 

5.  Crash – On 06-23-22 at 5:36 PM, a box truck making a local delivery hit live power lines in the 900 block of W Third St.  The power lines then fell on two residences in the area.  PP&L was called to the scene to assist. 

6.  Crash – On 06-24-22 at 2:49 PM, a crash occurred at Bellefonte Ave and Commerce St.  Unit one was traveling east on Bellefonte Ave and entered the center turn lane to make a left turn.  Unit 1 hit unit 2 which was traveling west on Bellefonte Ave and had the right-of-way.  Operator of Unit 1 was cited for failed to yield to oncoming traffic when making a left turn. 

7.  Crash – On 06-24-22 at 3:45 PM, a crash occurred at E Church St and Hanna St.  Unit one was traveling east on E Church St and entered the intersection causing a crash with unit 2 which was traveling north on Hanna St.  Unit 1 was facing a stop sign and entered the intersection without clearance.  Operator of Unit 1 was cited for a stop sign violation.

8.  Crash – On 06-25-22 at 11:46 AM, a crash occurred on Commerce St.  Three vehicle chain reaction crash occurred when the first vehicle stopped for a vehicle turning into a business.
