News Release

January 16, 2023

Incidents:

1. Hit and Run- On 1/6/23 at 8:20am, a tractor trailer struck a stop sign knocking it over at the intersection of Commerce St and W. Bald Eagle St.
2. Theft from vehicle – On 1/13/23, a vehicle was entered while parked at UPMC Lock Haven and items were stolen.
3. Crash – On 1/13/23 at 3:27pm, a crash occurred on Bellefonte Ave at N. Fairview ST. Unit 1 was turning left onto Bellefonte Ave from N. Fairview St and was struck by Unit 2. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and both drivers were transported to the hospital.
4. Crash – On 1/13/23 at 8:11pm, a 13-year old male riding a scooter on Bellefonte Ave was struck by a vehicle. The juvenile was transported to the hospital.
5. Recovery of Stolen Vehicle – On 1/14/23, officers from the Lock Haven City Police Department assisted Johnston PD in recovering a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located on E. Main St.

Offenses Charged:

1. Nancy Keiper, 64, Lock Haven, has been charged with Driving Under the Influence of Controlled Substances. Keiper struck several curbs and another vehicle in the McDonald’s drive-thru on 12/7/22.
2. Michelle Alanskas, 50, Lock Haven, has been charged with Retail Theft. Alanskas filled a shopping cart with $267.78 worth of merchandise at Weis Markets in Lock Haven and left the store without paying for any items.
